The two sides last played each other in Abu Dhabi on 8 November 2020 in the second qualifier of the IPL 2020. Batting first, DC posted a challenging score of 189/3, thanks largely to Dhawan’s 78 off 50 balls. He was ably supported by Stoinis (38 runs off 27 balls), Iyer (21 off 20) and Hetmyer (42 off 22). While Rashid Khan 91/26) and Sandeep Sharma (1/30) were hard to score off, the rest of the SRH bowlers did not pose much threat. When SRH batted, they got off to a bad start, losing 3 wickets for 44. However, a rescue act by Pandey and Williamson saw them in relative comfort at 147 for 4 in the 17th over when Williamson got out. After that, the target was a bridge too far and SRH finished with 172/8, handing DC a 17-run victory.

Analysisp>While the absence of Shreyas Iyer has weakened Delhi Capitals’ middle order somewhat, they still bat deep, with 8 players out of 11 capable of scoring runs when needed. The return to the side of Nortje and Rabada will give DC’s bowling the edge, though Sunrisers do have their own match-winning bowlers in Rashid Khan and Bhuvneshwar Kumar. That said, DC are the stronger side and SRH will need their best three batsmen to fire if they are to make a match of it.
