MS and PZ last faced each other in Karachi on 23 February 2021. In that match, MS batted first. Despite the early loss of opener Chris Lynn’s wicket which left them at 6 for 1, MS bounced back strongly with an 82-run stand between M Rizwan and James Vince. After Kohler-Cadmore was out in the 17th over, quickfire cameos from Rutherford, Malik and Haider Ali took PZ home to an unlikely win, with six wickets and six balls to spare. Kohler-Cadmore was the top scorer with 53 from 32 balls, while Imam ul Haq (48 from 39 balls), Akmal (37 from 24) were other big contributors. Haider Ali remaining not out on 24 off 8 balls. For MS, Shahnawaz Dhani took two wickets while Usman Qadir took one.
