Born on 6 November 1999, young Bangladeshi cricketer Aminul Islam captained the U-17 side before getting selected for the ICC Under-19 World Cup and eventually making it into the national team. He is a top-order right-handed batsman and bowls leg-break googly. In the ICC Under-19 World Cup 2018, he scored 80 runs with an average of 16.

Aminul made his List A debut for Mohammedan Sporting Club in 2018 against Legends of Rupganj. He amassed 440 runs in 13 games for Bangladesh Krira Shikkha Protishtan in his next season. His performance was noticed by the selectors, earning him a call to join Bangladesh’s training camp ahead of the 2019 – 2020 season.

With Bangladesh selectors changing their strategy to adopt the wrist-spin culture, Aminul got his call-up midway through the tri-nation series involving Afghanistan and Zimbabwe. He made his international debut against Zimbabwe on 18 September 2019. He took 2 wickets on his debut, giving 18 runs in 4 overs. He had an impressive series against India in 2019. Overall, in 7 T20Is, Aminul Islam has picked up 10 wickets at an average of 17.60 and an economy of just under 8.

He has been picked up by Khulna Tigers in the Bangladesh Premier League.
