Chris Tremain is a 29-year-old Australian right-arm medium-fast bowler who represents New South Wales in the Sheffield Shield tournament. He also plays for Sydney Thunder in the Big Bash League. Tremain was a part of the Australia squad on the ODI tour of South Africa in September 2016. He played his first ODI match versus South Africa in October 2016.

Chris Tremain achieved his best ODI bowling figures in the 5th match of a series on the Australia tour of South Africa in October 2016. Batting first in that match, SA scored 327/8. Tremain emerged Australia’s best bowler after Joe Mennie who took 3 for 49. Tremain returned figures of 3 for 64, accounting for the scalps of Rilee Rossouw, David Miller and Kyle Abbott. It was a creditable performance, particularly as Rossouw scored a ton and but for his dismissal, SA would have probably scored 20-30 runs more. Chasing a daunting target, Australia were bowled out for 296, making the home side winners by 31 runs. Curiously, Tremain was not selected again to play for Australia.
In 49 T20 games, Chris has taken 43 wickets at 31.76, with the best bowling figures of 3/9. He has also scored 80 runs at 13.33, with a top score of 37 not out.

Tremain got his only first-class ton in March 2017 against Western Australia. In March 2018, Tremain was named by Cricket Australia in the Sheffield Shield Team of the Year after a brilliant performance in the 2017-18 Sheffield Shield season, in which he took 51 wickets in 10 games. The performance also saw Chris named by Cricket Victoria as the Sheffield Shield Player of the Season and won him the Bill Lawry Medal.
