Doug Bracewell is a 30-year-old all-rounder who has represented New Zealand internationally. Doug, who is the son of former Test cricketer Brendon Bracewell, bats right-handed and bowls right-arm medium pace. New Zealand Cricket named Bracewell in the U-19 squad in 2008 for the then upcoming tour of England. He began his first-class career playing for Central Districts versus Auckland in November 2008. In December 2008, Bracewell played his first List A game against Auckland. Doug was rewarded for his good performance at the time with an IPL contract by Delhi Daredevils ahead of the IPL 2012 season. Central Districts offered Doug a contract for the 2018-19 season. In November 2011, he played his first Test match versus Zimbabwe.

In his first List A game against Auckland, Bracewell returned bowling figures of 2/33 and opened the batting to score 55. On his Test debut, Bracewell took 5/85 in Zimbabwe’s second innings, making him the 7th Kiwi bowler to achieve a fifer on Test debut. He also became the 5th bowler to achieve the feat against Zimbabwe. Playing his third Test match, Doug took 6/40 against Australia at Bellerive Oval in Hobart. When Doug bowled Nathan Lyon to seal New Zealand’s win, the visitors won their first match on Australian soil in 26 years. In December 2017, Doug took 4 wickets in an ODI against West Indies, restricting them to a sub-250 score. He won the Mn of the Match award after New Zealand registered a 5-wicket win in the game. The performance was even more impressive considering that Doug had not played in an ODI for over 14 months at the time.
