Hussain Talat is a 24-year-old batting all-rounder from Lahore, Pakistan. Talat gained national recognition when he was selected to represent the Pakistan U-19 team in the 2013-14 season. After a brilliant start to his List A career, Hussain signed up to play for Zarai Taraqiati Bank Limited (ZTBL) in the Ramadan T20 Cup. He was selected in April 2018 to represent Federal Areas in the Pakistan Cup. Three months later, Talat found himself in the Toronto Nationals players’ draft ahead of the first season of the Global T20 Canada tournament. Balochistan named Hussain in September 2019 as a member of their team to take part in the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy tournament.

Ahead of the 2020-21 domestic season, in August 2020, Talat joined Southern Punjab. In March 2018, the Pakistan Cricket Board included Talat in the national squad for the then upcoming tour of the West Indies. In August 2018, the PCB awarded him a central contract for the 2018-19 season, making him one of only 32 players to receive such a contract. In December 2018, Talat became a member of the national squad for the 2018 ACC Emerging Teams Asia Cup in Bangladesh. In January 2019, Talat was named in the Pakistan ODI team for the tour of South Africa. In November 2020, Hussain found himself in the national side embarking on a tour of New Zealand.


Talat is yet to play Test cricket.


Hussain has played one ODI in which he scored 2 runs and returned bowling figures of 0/16.


In 15 T20Is, Talat has scored 371 runs at 28.53 with 2 fifties, including his top score of 63. He has also taken 4 wickets at 13.50 with the best bowling figures of 2/12.

In a sensational start to his domestic career, Talat scored 272 runs at 90.66 in his first four List A matches, including his top score of 141. Making his PSL debut for Islamabad United versus Quetta Gladiators in March 2017, Hussain scored a half-century to help his side to a thrilling one-run win. The young batsman achieved his maiden first-class double-hundred (253) in October 2020, in the 2020–21 Quaid-e-Azam Trophy. He made his T20I debut versus the West Indies in April 2018. Batting at number three, he made 41 off 37 balls to help his side to a first-innings score of 203/5. In reply, West Indies were bowled out for 60. Talat took one wicket for 3 runs in addition to three catches and was named the Man of the Match for his all-round show.

In 43 first-class matches, Talat has scored 2135 runs at 35.58 with 3 tons and 10 fifties, including the top score of 253. He has also taken 36 wickets at 35.11 with his best bowling figures of 3/24. In 64 List A games, Talat has made 1715 runs at 38.97 with 4 tons and 10 fifties, including the top score of 141 not out. He has also taken 18 wickets at 56.94 with the best bowling figures of 4/54.
