Jermaine has played 31 matches and scored 1573 runs at an average of 30.84. He played his first Test against New Zealand in Port of Spain in June 2014. Batting at number 8, Blackwood made 63 in a 146-minute stay at the wicket to help his team to score 460. In their second knock, New Zealand were bowled out for 331 and the West Indies scored the target of 93 with all their wickets intact. Arguably, Jermaine’s most consistent performance in a match came against England in May 2015. Playing in Bridgetown, England batted first and scored 257. The West Indies replied with 189. Blackwood, batting at number 3, managed to score only 2 runs off 8 balls in a 20-minute stay at the crease. The West Indies recovered somewhat to reach a score of 206/9.
