Test Career

Kraigg Brathwaite has scored 3672 runs in 62 Tests at an average of 33.08 with the top score of 212. He has also taken 18 wickets at an average of 57.98 with his best bowling figures of 6/29. His first Test was against Pakistan in Basseterre on 20 May 2011. He scored 15 runs in a match that Pakistan won by 196 runs. Kraigg registered his first half-century against Bangladesh in Dhaka in October 2011. That match was the 2nd of a series on the West Indies tour of Bangladesh. The West Indies batted first. Opening the innings, Brathwaite scored 50 in 102 balls and shared an opening partnership of 100 with KOA Powell. That was his first half-century in Tests scored in a match that the West Indies eventually won. In June 2014, the West Indies played against New Zealand in Port of Spain in the second Test of a series on New Zealand’s tour of the West Indies. The Kiwis batted first and were bowled out for 221. The West Indies replied strongly. Opening with Gayle, Brathwaite scored 129 and shared a partnership of 93 for the 3rd wicket with Kirk Edwards and a 4th-wicket stand of 182 with Darren Bravo to propel the West Indies to a score of 460. New Zealand in their second outing could not make more than 331 and the West Indies chased down the target without losing a wicket. In September 2014, in the first match of a series on the Bangladesh tour of the West Indies held in Bridgetown, the West Indies batted first. Opening the innings with Gayle, Brathwaite scored 212 and the West Indies rode his innings to pile up 484/7 declared. Replying, Bangladesh scored 182 and, following on, they made 314 in their second knock. The West Indies knocked off the required 13 runs without loss of wicket. For his brilliant knock, Brathwaite was named the Player of the Match. He last appeared in a Test against England in Manchester in July 2020.

ODI Career

Kraigg Brathwaite has scored 278 runs in 10 ODIs at an average of 27.8 with the top score of 78. He has also taken 1 wicket at an average of 140.00 with his best bowling figures of 1/56. Kraigg played his first ODI against Pakistan in Sharjah on 30 September 2016. On 19 November 2016, in the third match of a series on the West Indies tour of Zimbabwe, the two sides met in Bulawayo. The home side batted first and scored 257. For the West Indies, Brathwaite opened the innings with J Charles and scored 78 in 117 balls to help his team to an identical score of 257 for the loss of 8 wickets to tie the match. In his brief ODI career, Brathwaite had several good starts that he failed to convert into big innings, including 39 and 32 against Pakistan in October 2016 and 42 against England in March 2017. Brathwaite last appeared in an ODI against England in Bridgetown in March 2017.
