Moises Henriques is a 34-year-old Portuguese-born all-rounder who has represented Australia internationally. Moises, who bats right-handed and bowls right-arm fast-medium, first gained attention when he played for Australia in the 2004 U-19 World Cup in Bangladesh. His performance there won him a place in the U-19 team to tour India for a one-day series versus the India U-19 team. Moises skippered the Australia U-19 team at the 2016 U-19 World Cup in Sri Lanka.

Biography

Henriques played his first List A match for New South Wales versus Victoria in January 2006. In October 2006, he began his first-class career versus South Australia. The Indian Premier League franchise Kolkata Knight Riders gave Moises a $300,000 contract for the 2009 season. A year later, he played for Delhi Daredevils. In 2012, English county Glamorgan contracted Moises for part of the season.

In 4 Test matches, Henriques has scored 164 runs at 23.42 with two fifties, including his top score of 164. He has also taken 2 test wickets at 82.00 with the best bowling figures of 1/48.

ODI

In the 2004 U-19 Cricket World Cup in Bangladesh, Moises grabbed 11 wickets at 19.27 and scored 95 runs at 19.00. In the U-19 One Day series versus India, Henriques scored 132 runs at an average of 44.00 and took 8 wickets at 18.25. In the 2006 U-19 World Cup in Sri Lanka, Moises scored 150 runs at 37.50 and took the most wickets – 16 – at 10.52 in 5 games. In all, he has played 17 U-19 games for Australia and taken 35 wickets at 15.08 while scoring 377 runs at an average of 31.41. With 27 wickets at U-19 world cups, Moises Henriques became the joint-leading wicket-taker alongside Greg Thompson.
