ODI Career

Zadran played his first ODI against Ireland at Dublin in July 2012. He made 23 in a match that Afghanistan ended up losing. He got his first ODI fifty in January 2015 against the same opposing side in Dubai, when he made 83 to help Afghanistan to a 71-run victory that saw Zadran named Man of the Match. He had several other impressive performances including 56 against New Zealand at Napier in March 2015 during the World Cup, though in a game lost by Afghanistan. Zadran made 89 not out against Scotland at Edinburgh in July 2016, in a match that ended without a result because of rain. In July 2016, Zadran and innings of 59 and 54 against Ireland at Belfast. In February 2018, he scored 81 not out against Zimbabwe at Sharjah, in a match that Afghanistan won by 154 runs. His only ODI ton of 104 not out, however, came in a lost match against Ireland at Dehradun in March 2019. In his last appearance in an ODI in November 2019, Zadran made 30 against the West Indies at Lucknow in another losing cause. In 67 ODI games, Zadran has made 1586 runs at 29.92, with the best batting performance of 104 not out.

T20I Career

Zadran played his first T20I against India at Colombo in September 2012, a match that Afghanistan lost. After that, he ran up a string of good scores, including 33 against Kenya at Sharjah in November 2013, 38 against Pakistan at the same venue in the same month, 33 against the Netherlands at Edinburgh in July 2015, 37 at the same venue against Scotland in the same month and 37 not out against Zimbabwe at Bulawayo in October 2015 before he accomplished his first 50-plus score in T20Is. He made 60 not out against Hong Kong at Dhaka in February 2016, in a match that Afghanistan won by 66 runs. He recorded his highest T20I score of 69 not out against Zimbabwe at Dhaka in a tri-series with Bangladesh as the third side. Batting at number five in the order, he made his runs off 30 balls with five fours and six sixes to help Afghanistan achieve a 28-run win. He made his last appearance in a T20I against Ireland at Greater Noida in March 2020. In 60 T20Is, Zadran has made 976 runs at an average of 31.48, with the best batting performance of 69 not out.
