Nathan Ellis is one of the promising fast bowlers going around in Australian cricket. He was born in Greenacre, New South Wales in 1994 and it was only in 2018 that he first came into the limelight. He was included in the Hobart Hurricanes’ squad when they travelled to the UAE for the 2018 Abu Dhabi T20 Trophy and he made his T20 debut in that tournament. However, he started regularly featuring in the playing XI for the Hobart Hurricanes only from the 2019-20 season of the Big Bash League (BBL) and he has been very impressive in the last couple of BBL seasons.

His List A and first-class debuts came in the 2019-20 domestic season in Australia. After impressing across formats, the New South Wales pacer was named in Australia’s travelling reserves for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2021. Just before that tournament, he made his T20I debut against Bangladesh and played a couple of games in that series. Ellis was also named as a replacement player and was picked up by Punjab Kings for the second half of the IPL 2021.

International Cricket

Ellis received his international cap on Australia’s tour to Bangladesh in August this year. He played two T20Is and was rather impressive. He bagged a hat trick on debut and also took two wickets in his second game.

IPL Career

Ellis made his IPL debut in the UAE leg of the 2021 edition. The 27-year-old pacer played three matches but could take just one wicket at an economy rate of 8.18.
