Nathan achieved his best bowling figures in the BBL against Melbourne Renegades on 1 January 2021. Batting first in that match, Renegades scored 166/6 in 17 overs in a rain-curtailed game. McAndrew was Thunder’s best bowler on the night taking 3 for 41. He provided an early breakthrough with the wicket of opener Aaron Finch, whom he had caught behind. That opened the floodgates as Renegades lost two more wickets to be reduced to 58 for 3. Just as Renegades threatened to run away with the game, McAndrew dismissed top scorer Shaun Marsh for 87, caught by Green. His third wicket was that of Md Nabi, thus accounting for the three highest run-getters in the Renegades lineup. Thunder scored 117/2 in 12 overs before rain brought the match to a halt and were declared winners by 7 runs using the D/L method.
