Records and Facts

Olly played a match-winning role in his only Test match against the visiting Ireland team. In that one-off Test, in July 2019, England batted first and collapsed sensationally to be all out for 85. When Ireland batted, they were bowled out for 207 in their first innings, restricting their lead to 122 runs. Olly contributed by taking 3/29, while England’s other wicket-takers were Sam Curran (3/28), Stuart Broad (3/60) and Moeen Ali (1/14). As things transpired, England scored 303 in their second knock, setting Ireland a target of 182 to win. Ireland collapsed for an abysmal score of 38 in their second innings in which Olly Stone did not get to bowl, rendering England the winners by 143 runs.

In 38 first-class matches, Olly Stone has taken 130 wickets at 24.28 with the best bowling figures of 8/80 in an innings and 11/96 in a match. In 30 List A games, Stone has taken 24 wickets at 42.62, with the best bowling figures of 4/71. In 51 T20 games, Olly has taken 48 wickets at 29.27 with the best bowling figures of 3/22. Though primarily a bowler, Olly who bats right-handed is no slouch with the willow. In 38 first-class matches, he has made 609 runs at 16.02 with a top score of 60. In 30 List A matches, he has scored 122 runs at 24.40 with the highest score of 24 not out. In 51 T20 matches, he has scored 66 runs at 9.42 with a top score of 22 not out.
