Shahpoor Zadran is one of the few players who has been in the squad since the inception of the Afghanistan national team. He has been a part of few early wins for the team and has been the main bowler of the squad, replaced now by a couple of young wrist-spinners. Shahpoor Zadran was born in Logar Province, Afghanistan. When terror hit Afghanistan, he was forced to move to Pakistan. In pursuit of becoming a cricketer and playing for Pakistan, though seeing no hope, he returned back to the land of his forefathers. Shahpoor Zadran’s bowling inspiration has been Shoaib Akhtar. Having long hair, a marathon run-up and the right share of aggression, he has surely managed to follow his idol. Shahpoor Zadran is often seen playing cricket in Pakistan. He takes tips from coaches in Pakistan and takes part in games for the local clubs of Peshawar.
