Biography

Islam got lots of adulation for his performance in the Under-19 World Cup 2020 for his pace, aggression and striking results, especially in the knockout games against South Africa and New Zealand as well as in the final game against India.

Shoriful Islam was a medium pacer when he started, but the credit for turning him into a fast bowler goes to his coach, Mahbub Ali Zaki.

ODI

Shoriful Islam has not made his debut in ODIs for Bangladesh. He got his first call-up to the Bangladesh side as his name was included in the squad for the ODI series against West Indies at home. However, a spot in the playing XI eluded him as Bangladesh won the series easily.

T20I

Shoriful Islam has not made his debut in T20Is for Bangladesh.

In 2017, he debuted in first-class cricket playing for Rajshahi and in 2018, he played his first List A match. In August 2018, he played his first T20 match for Bangladesh A against Ireland A.
