At the age of 27, Ambris has represented the West Indies in both Test and ODI formats of the game and he is looking to secure his place in the side.

Amrbis was a prodigious talent in Saint Vincent and at the age of just 19 was picked to play in the 2012-13 Caribbean Twenty20 tournament for the Combined Campuses side against the Leeward Islands and Jamaica.

Good performances led to a call-up to the Windward Islands team for the 2013-14 season, in which he scored a century on debut against Guyana.

His showings in domestic cricket continued to be consistent and in 2017-18 he was awarded a development contract by the West Indian Cricket Board.

Ambris had to be patient and was eventually selected to be a part of the ODI side playing against England in September 2017 which made him ODI cap 181 for the West Indies.

In 8 ODI matches for the West Indies, Ambris has scored over 350 runs at an average of 70.4 and with the top score of 148.

While Ambris has impressed everyone in the ODI arena, he has struggled somewhat in Test cricket. He made his debut in December 2017 against New Zealand, becoming Test cap 313.

With an average of 15.2 from 6 Test matches played and his highest score of just 43, Ambris has fallen out of favour in Tests and hasn’t played a 5-day game for the West Indies since November 2018.
