Domestic Career

Imam cracked an unbeaten 200 for Habib Bank Limited in the final of the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy in 2016-2017. He won the Player of the Match award for his unbeaten 59 for Lahore Blues in the 2017 – 2018 National T20 Cup final.

ODI Career and International Matches

As mentioned above, Imam impressed the audience during his ODI debut made in October 2017 against Sri Lanka, blasting a century and becoming the Player of the Match. He is only the second Pakistani to score a debut ODI hundred after Saleem Elahi. In July 2018, Imam partnered Fakhar Zaman for an opening partnership that scored 304 runs and helped Pakistan achieve 399/1, their top total in ODIs.

Imam and Zaman together scored 750 runs during that series which was a record for most runs by a couple of batters in a bilateral one-day series. In January 2019, Imam reached 1,000 ODI runs in his 19th innings only, becoming the second-quickest to ever do so. In 2019, before the ODI World Cup, Imam blasted 151 against England in an ODI. This score is the highest ever achieved by a Pakistani batter in an ODI match versus England.

As of June 2020, Imam has played in 37 ODIs, scoring 1723 runs at an average of 53.84 and a strike rate of 80.47 with 7 hundreds and 6 fifties.

Centuries

Imam has notched up 7 hundreds in ODIs with the highest score of 151 runs. He has also scored 5 centuries in first-class cricket and 8 hundreds in List A games.

Personal Life

Imam-ul-Haq is the nephew of legendary former Pakistan batsman Inzamam-ul-Haq. However, Imam has become a star all on his own and has every right to bring the success of his famous uncle into the question. Currently, he is just 24 years old and can have a long and successful career if he continues to work hard to achieve his full potential.
