Test Career

Lahiru has played 21 Tests and taken 67 wickets at 36.58. He played his first Test against Zimbabwe in Harare in October 2016. He took 1/90 and 2/45, contributing to Sri Lanka’s 225-run victory. He accounted for the wickets of PJ Moor (twice) and BB Chari. He took 6/122, his best bowling figures in an innings, against South Africa in Cape Town in January 2017 in a lost cause. He was responsible for the wickets of Hashim Amla, JP Duminy, Temba Bavuma, Quinton De Kock, Vernon Philander and Kagiso Rabada in a match South Africa won by 282 runs. He played his last Test against Zimbabwe in Harare in January 2020.

ODI Career

Lahiru Kumara has taken 13 wickets in 13 ODIs at 47.92. He played his first ODI against South Africa in Johannesburg. Lahiru Kumara took 1/49 in the match which was won by South Africa. He accounted for the dismissal of Quinton de Kock. Lahiru Kumara last appeared in an ODI against Pakistan in Karachi in October 2019.

T20I Career

Lahiru Kumara has taken 7 wickets in 6 T20I matches at 33.50. He played his first match against New Zealand in Auckland on 11 January 2019. On 9 October 2019, Sri Lanka batted first in a match against Pakistan in Lahore and scored 147/7. When Pakistan batted, Lahiru Kumara grabbed 2 wickets for 24 to help restrict Pakistan to a score of 134/6, enabling Sri Lanka to register a 13-run win. In the process, Lahiru Kumara accounted for the wickets of Babar Azam and Imad Wasim. Lahiru Kumara last appeared in a T20 game against the West Indies in Pallekele on 6 March 2020.
