Wanindu has scored 190 runs in 15 ODIs at 19.00 and taken 17 wickets at 32.17. He took 3/15 in his first ODI against Zimbabwe in Galle on 2 July 2017, helping to restrict the tourists to 155 runs and paving the way for a 7-wicket win for Sri Lanka. Player of the Match Hasaranga registered his highest score of 42 not out to help Sri Lanka in a successful run-chase of 290 against the West Indies in Colombo on 22 February 2020. He took 1/16 in his last ODI against the West Indies in Pallekele that Sri Lanka won by 6 runs.

T20I Career

Wanindu has scored 123 runs in 13 T20Is at 17.57 and taken 16 wickets at 18.37. He took 2/21 in his first T20I against New Zealand in Pallekele on 1 September 2019, in a game that the Kiwis won by 5 wickets. On 5 October 2019 in Lahore, Wanindu took 2/20 to help bowl Pakistan out for 101 after Sri Lanka had scored 165/5. His wickets included those of Sarfaraz Ahmed and Asif Ali. Playing at the same venue two days later, Wanindu dismissed Ahmed Shahzad, Sarfaraz Ahmed and Umar Akmal to help restrict Pakistan to 147 after Sri Lanka had batted first and scored 182/6. He registered his best bowling figures of 3/21 to restrict Pakistan to 134/6 after Sri Lanka had scored 147/7, batting first in a match in Lahore in October 2019. Hasaranga made his highest score of 44 off 34 balls while chasing 197 against the West Indies in Pallekele on 4 March 2020. Unfortunately, Sri Lanka lost by 25 runs. Wanindu last appeared in a T20I against the West Indies in Pallekele in March 2019.
