James McCollum is a right-handed opening batsman of the Ireland team in ODI and Test matches. He made his international debut in 2019 in both formats and is yet to make an appearance in T20Is.

Last year, he was one of the nineteen players to be awarded a full-time contract by Cricket Ireland. Apart from the Irish national team, he has played for Northern Knights and Durham in the local and county leagues respectively.

James McCollum was born on 1 August 1995 in Ireland. Having shown impressive performances in the 2017 domestic cricket season, he was selected to join the national team during the 2019 Afghanistan tour in India where he played his maiden ODI and Test matches. So far, he has scored 185 runs in ODIs and 73 runs in Test matches. He first made a mark with the bat scoring 149 runs in the three-match ODI series against Zimbabwe with two fifties in July 2019.  There is no doubt, he will be playing a key role in the Ireland squad for the next 4-5 years.
