Harmanpreet Kaur and Jemimah Rodrigues Pen Deals with Renegades

Harmanpreet Kaur and Jemimah Rodrigues, the T20I stars from India, have been signed by the Melbourne Renegades for the upcoming season of the Women’s Big Bash League. Harmanpreet Kaur is a right-handed middle-order batswoman who has played in T20Is for over two years while Jemimah Rodrigues is a left-handed opening batter who was recently included in the T20I squad after an impressive showing at the Women’s Cricket World Cup Qualifier 2018. Indian T20 captain Harmanpreet Kaur was previously signed by Sydney Thunder. For Jemimah, this is her first WBBL stint.

Apart from Kaur and Rodrigues, India’s all-rounder Deepti Sharma and T20I vice-captain Smriti Mandhana have been signed by Sydney Thunder for the upcoming league. Sixers, on the other hand, have announced that they have signed opener Shefali Verma and all-rounder Radha Yadav for WBBL.

It will be interesting to see how these Indian players will perform in alien conditions under different team management and captaincy.

Power-hitter Harmanpreet is currently undergoing recovery after a thumb injury. She’s been ruled out of the only pink-ball Test played in Queensland. However, according to cric-life.com, Kaur was seen hitting the nets ahead of the ODI game against the Aussies. It is speculated that she will be a part of the 3-match ODI series against Australia.
