Worcestershire vs Durham: June 25, Vitality Blast 2021 Prediction
Match Predictions and Team Previews
Worcestershire and Durham square off against each other in their respective eighth matches in this Vitality T20 Blast 2021. The venue for this game will be the New Road in Worcester. This is the first game of this ongoing season between these two sides.
Worcestershire had a solid start to this season. They made a stunning comeback in the first game to force a tie against Nottinghamshire. They then beat Northamptonshire and Lancashire in successive games. But since then, they haven’t recorded a single win. Worcestershire have suffered three losses and one game was washed out. Worcestershire’s batting has been one of the reasons for their downfall and the bowling has been pretty inconsistent as well. They are sixth on the points table and have just six points.
On the other hand, Durham have been pretty good. With nine points from seven games, they are fourth on the North Group points table. They have won four games and lost just two so far. They have been outplayed only in one game which was the last game against Northamptonshire. Their wins have come against Yorkshire, Leicestershire, Lancashire and Warwickshire. The batting has fared decently but it is the bowling that has stood up well and delivered.
Worcestershire may have a good head-to-head record against Durham (8-5 in favour of Worcestershire) but their recent form haven’t really been at its best. Durham have been a little more consistent and hence, they could start as slight favourites.
Worcestershire vs Durham Betting
Worcestershire are ahead on head-to-head count against Durham but Worcestershire are lower on the betting odds for this game. They are placed at 2.04 to win this game. Meanwhile, Durham are the favourites as far as betting odds are concerned and have their winning odds placed at 1.78.
Worcestershire and Durham have squared off 16 times in the history of the Vitality T20 Blast. It is Worcestershire who have been dominant. They couldn’t record a single win in the first four games (2010 and 2011) against Durham. However, they have been very consistent since the start of 2014 and have won at least one game every season since then. Overall, Worcestershire have won eight games and Durham have won five.
