Murali Vijay vs Dinesh Karthik Issues

A Love Triangle

Dinesh Karthik and Murali Vijay were good friends and teammates in the Tamil Nadu team, playing Ranji Trophy matches together. In 2007, Karthik met and fell in love with Nikita Vanjara. They got married the same year. Five years later, during the IPL 2012 season, Karthik discovered that his wife was cheating on him with his friend, Murali Vijay.

Moving On

As it transpired, Murali Vijay and Nikita Vanjara had met and got acquainted during a marathon event in 2008. One thing led to another, and by 2012 stories of their affair were doing the rounds. Once Karthik became aware of the situation, he proceeded to divorce Nikita, though she was said to be pregnant at the time with their son. Late in 2012, Murali Vijay married Nikita. Both players handled the whole issue very maturely, though their friendship was strained after the event. In November 2013, Karthik got engaged to Indian squash player Dipika Pallikal. They got married in August 2015.

All’s Well That Ends Well

Vijay and Karthik have since played together for the Tamil Nadu Ranji Trophy team, as well as for the India national squad. They have handled the matter with great discretion and maturity and are currently happily married to their spouses: Murali to Nikita and Dinesh to Dipika.
