Markram, who was adjudged man of the match, scored 48 from 33 balls, to add to his scores of 96 and 21 in the recent ODI series. Miller, who had scores of 28 and 75 on the SA tour of Ireland, made 26 from 15 balls to underscore his importance to the SA T20I squad. Though Sri Lankan skipper Shanaka made only 16 from 14 (in a 27-run stand with Chandimal), he also took a wicket.

Maharaj (who skippered the SA side) and his spin bowling partner Shamsi took 1/19 and 1/20 to rise to the occasion on a spin friendly wicket. Sri Lanka’s paceman, Chameera, took 1/35, the wicket of Miller, to remind everybody of his consistent.
