Kamran Akmal was instrumental in helping Zalmi to the Play offs. Though he did not score many runs in the Eliminator versus Kings, he is likely to be one of the biggest threats for United with his ability to score at a quick clip in the powerplay.

Batsmen>Even before his innings of 77 in 38 balls which helped Zalmi beat Karachi in Eliminator One, Zazai had sent a warning to rival bowlers with his innings of 63 in 26 balls in the league game versus Karachi on 15 June. Usman Khawaja has discovered form at the right time. Khawaja scored a hundred against Zalmi in the league game on June 17 and followed it up with a knock of 77 versus Sultans in the Qualifier. Malik’s transformation into a top order batsman was just what the doctor ordered for Zalmi. His crucial knock of 30 versus Kings in the Eliminator underlined Malik’s value to his team.

Allrounders

rong>Shadab Khan was United’s most impressive bowler in the Qualifier versus Sultans, taking 2/25 from his 4 overs. Ashraf has returned from injury and found his bowling form almost instantly, taking 2/35 versus Sultans in the Qualifier. Talat’s bowling was crucial to United’s defence of their record total of 247 on 17 June. In the qualifier versus Sultans, he came good with the bat scoring 25, batting down the order. Iftikhar Ahmed has been consistent with the bat for United. Adding to a couple of 49s earlier in the competition, Iftikhar’s unbeaten 71 versus Kings on 14 June was a reminder to rival bowlers about what he could do.

and Irfan came to the party against Kings in the Eliminator on 21 June. While Riaz took 2/29, including the crucial wicket of Babar Azam, Irfan returned figures of 2/21. Between the pair of bowlers, they contributed the most to keeping Kings to a gettable target in the Eliminator. Though Hasan Ali did not perform to potential in the Qualifier versus Sultans, we expect the star paceman to deliver the goods in the Eliminator versus Zalmi.
