Royal Challengers Bangalore Preview
RCB are doing everything right so far, be it their batting or their bowling, they are acing everything like champions. Their bowling helped them to win their last two matches comprehensively. They won by 82 runs against KKR and by 37 runs against CSK.
The openers were brilliant against KKR, Aaron Finch scored 47 runs off 37 balls, whereas his partner Paddikal batted fluently and scored 32 runs. After the departure of the openers, Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers started their belligerent run-fest. De Villiers scored 73 runs off 33 balls and took his run tally to 228 runs in 7 matches. Virat Kohli after an ordinary start to this IPL is back in the business of run-scoring. He had scored 90 (52) and mounted 256 runs in 7 matches.
The spin bowlers are praised for their economical bowling. The spin duo of Sundar and Chahal conceded only 32 runs in 8 overs in Sharjah. Chennai Super Kings Preview
Champion teams like CSK can’t be kept down for long but the journey is lasting. They have to win 5 out of 6 remaining matches to secure a place in the top four. The batting is still a concern, whereas their bowling has somehow managed to become solid in their performances.
Openers have played individually but haven’t fired in powerplays. Sam Curran opened the innings against SRH and scored 31 runs off 21 balls with 2 sixes to his name. Du Plessis got out on a golden duck against SRH. Shane Watson played well for his 42 runs and formed a good partnership with Rayadu for 81 runs. Rayadu is in good form and has made 192 runs in 6 matches.
Ravindra Jadeja played a blinder against SRH and CSK might need more of those from him. He was the Man of the Match against SRH for his 25 (10) with one wicket for 21 runs. Bravo and Karn Sharma scalped 2 wickets each. Shardul Thakur has been bowling well and has picked 8 wickets in 5 matches. Dhoni had too many options to go with and rotated the bowlers effectively which was crucial against SRH.
Faf du Plessis is the leading scorer with a staggering 307 runs in 8 matches and Sam Curran has picked 9 wickets in 8 matches.
Key players: Faf du Plessis, Ravindra Jadeja, Sam Curran.
Chennai Super Kings Probable Starting XI:
Both teams have lost 3 matches out of 5 they have played at this ground. CSK lost the match against RCB at this venue. One side of the ground is bigger and the team with quick runners will have an advantage over the opposition.
It is not easy to score quickly at the beginning of innings and hence, it is hard to play shots in the powerplay. The par score at this ground is slowly reducing as the pitch is slowing a bit. Teams have chosen to bat first after winning the toss and probably CSK and RCB will do the same.
Evening games in Dubai have all the chances of becoming good games. The temperature will be 26°C with a clear sky and some wind gusts at 20 kph.
CSK is finding their ways to win now and the last victory against SRH will certainly boost their confidence in the upcoming matches. They will come hard against any team in the next matches to survive. RCB is also in phenomenal form but the determination of Dad’s army can upset any team on a given day. CSK won’t take any half measures against RCB.
We predict CSK to register a victory against RCB
